It seemed weird to me that Marriott was giving out a 100k offer on the the $95 annual fee cards, but was leaving their premier Marriott Bonvoy Brilliant card with a 75k point offer. This is all but fixed now for a limited time.
The Marriott Bonvoy Brilliant card now has a 100k offer for spending $5,000 within the first 3 months. The points are worth about 0.8 cents per point (TPG) which would put this sign up bonus at $800. The offer is available for a limited time, set to expire on April 8th.
The Marriott Bonvoy Brilliant card has a $450 annual fee which is not waived in the first year. There is a $300 Marriott credit, as well as a free night award for a stay valued at 50,000 points per night. The reward categories on the Bonvoy Brilliant include 6x at Marriott (including old SPG properties), 3x on U.S. restaurants and flight booked directly with airlines, and 2x everywhere else. Additionally, the card also comes with a Global Entry/TSA Precheck credit.
For a card with a $450 annual fee, it makes sense to offer this level of sign up bonus all of the time in my opinion. That being said, this offer is tied with the highest sign up bonus we’ve seen. The standard offer is 75,000 points which is only worth about $600. Still, if you’re going to be spending that kind of money within 3 months, it’s nice to get an extra $200 back.
