Summary of the Card
The card comes with a $195 annual fee that is not waived in the first year. The sign up bonus includes 35,000 points when spending $1,000 within the first 3 months, and 5,000 MQM. After spending $25,000 within the calendar year, you can earn 10,000 points and 10,000 MQM.
Every time you pay the annual fee on the credit card, you are going to be getting a round trip companion certificate. Additionally, you will get priority boarding and your first checked in luggage as free. Finally, every time you use your card on Delta purchases, you will earn 2x points, and everywhere else you can earn 1x.
Final Thoughts
Compared to just directly applying for the card, you aren’t getting too many points. If you were to apply directly for the offer, you would get more than double the points, plus MQMs if that matters to you. Still, American Express offers better than sign up bonus offers for upgrading some of its core cards, so it’s disappointing to see an upgrade offer this small on its cobranded cards.
