When it comes to flexing, there is no better way to do it than with the Centurion card from American Express. The Centurion card is known by people even outside of the credit card game as the ultimate credit card, especially when its touted by celebrities and other high earners. But right now, with the lack of travel, and the recently increased annual and initiation fees, it may be a little bit of a curse. So it’s no surprise then, that American Express is really stepping up for these cardholders.
I’m going to be breaking this down in personal and business Centurion as they are each getting their own benefits.
- $2,000 in statement credits for Amextravel purchases between 4/1/20 and 12/31/20
- $20 in statement credit for wireless credits and $20 statement credit for streaming services monthly
- $1,500 in statement credit for Business Centurion cardholders with renewal dates between 5/1/20 and 12/31/20
- $20 wireless credits and $20 shipping credits monthly
Now of course, both Centurion cards have incredibly high annual fees, but can we just take a moment to appreciate how much of a credit those cardholders are getting. A $2,000 travel voucher?? That’s crazy! With pre-coronavirus pricing, you could have taken trans-Atlantic or trans-pacific flights in economy (and that logic right there is why I don’t have a Centurion card).
Regardless, when it comes down to it, I really have to give it to American Express for taking care of its cardholders. This is great news all around, and should really provide a ton of value for those that do hold the Centurion cards.
What do you think about these credits for the Centurion card holders? Do you think this is enough, or do you think they deserve more? Let us know down in the comment section below.
