When it comes to the business cards of American Express, I’ve always liked the Blue Business Plus card. That card fills a void that that isn’t available on the personal side of American Express, and that is a catch all card that offers Membership Reward points. The unfortunate thing about that card, is that it will go long periods of time without a sign up bonus. But, American Express is out here changing our perceptions on what a sign up bonus for this card may look like.
The Blue Business Plus and the Blue Business Cash card will have a new sign up bonus with a total value of $300. The offer is broken up as such:
- $100 in statement credit at Dell
- $100 in statement credit at FedEx
- $100 in statement credit at DocuSign
The credits are good for up to 3 months after signing up for the card. They do not have to be in one transaction, but rather can be accumulated through multiple purchases.
This offer is good for people who apply for either card between August 6, 2020 and November 4, 2020.
If we take a look at the Blue Business Plus card, that usually doesn’t have a sign up bonus at all. When we do see the bonuses, it usually comes in the form of 20,000 MR points, which, if we value at 2 CPP (TPG), would be worth $400. That is a little bit more than the total value here of $300.
If you have a business, then you might find some use for these credits. I just think it takes a really specific business to get use out of all 3 of these at the same time, all within the span of 3 months no less. If you can get use from these credits, then this is a great time to apply. However, if you don’t, you may get more advantage by waiting for the point offer to return. While much more infrequent, you would be able to use the points exactly how you like, instead of being tied down to these specific businesses.
