We recently wrote about American Express offering business credit cards some sort of appreciate credit for its card holders. This would be for cards that have an annual fee, and was given out after paying the annual fee and some other restrictions. Some of the cards included were actually Delta credit cards, but again, these were only business cards that were seeing his credit. However, it looks like some of the personal cards are going to be getting some love too.
For those of you that happen to have a Delta credit card with a high annual fee, you may be getting an “appreciation” credit after the card renewal. Expect this credit to take up to 8-12 weeks after the annual fee has been paid. The cards that are currently offering this credit are listed below:
- Delta Skymiles Reserve ($550): $100 statement credit after card renewal
- Delta Skymiles Platinum ($250): $50 statement credit after card renewal
It’s great to see that companies are stepping up and giving people value for their credit cards. Though if we’re being honest, this is more about retention more than proving value. But still, I do applaud everyone doing this sort of thing. With Marriott offering benefits to both personal and business cards, I figured it was only a matter of time before other companies with personal and business cards offer benefits. I figure the next one that we’ll see something from will be Hilton, but lets stay tuned to find out!
Do you have either of these Delta personal cards? What do you think about these sort of credits? Are they enough for you to keep the card? Let us know your thoughts in the comment section below!
