When the Gold card launched, it was probably the biggest credit card launch of the year. The only bad part about the card was the lackluster sign up bonus. The only way to get more than 35,000 points was by using a referral code to get the full 50,000 points. But even so, if you didn’t know about it, you would have been stuck with a measly 35,000 points. But what if you were targeted for an even better offer, would you take it?
Check those mailboxes! Some people are getting targeted for a 70,000 point sign up bonus on the Gold card. The 70,000 points comes after spending $4,000 within the first 3 months.
With some people getting targeted for as much as 125,000 points on the Platinum card, it’s shocking to me that we didn’t see an offer like this come out sooner. It’s a shame that the offer is only available through the mail, but 70k is nothing to scoff at. If we value those points at 2 cents per point, that would be worth $1,400, which, after spending $4,000, would give you a return of 35%!
With the Rose Gold color no longer available, I wonder how the number of applications for the Gold card look from month to month. It must be lower than expected if they are offering this amount of points.
