British Airways Partner Changes Now Live

Not too long ago, we reported that British Airways was looking to make some changes to it Partner program. Now that we have the official confirmation on the changes, we figured it was time to report on it.

The Changes

Unfortunately it will now cost more to take a flight, of course these point values are broken down by the overall distance of the flight.

  • 0-650 miles: 6,000 Avios points (previously 4,500)
  • 651-1,150 miles: 9,000 Avios points (previously 7,500)
  • 1151-2,000 miles: 11,000 Avios points (previously 10,000)
  • 2001-3,000 miles: 13,000 Avios points (previously 12,500)

Overall, each single flight has gotten more expensive. The longer flights saw the smallest increase while the shorter flights got a bigger increase.

Final Thoughts

It sucks when we have to report bad news like this, where flights get more and more expensive. That being said, if you really break it down, the increases are not that bad, and could have been a lot worse. This looks more like it’s going to impact the shorter flights more than the longer flights.
