If you’ve been eyeing a business card from Cit, let alone an American Airline credit card, this may be one of your best chances at obtaining both of those things.
If you spend $4,000 within the first 5 months on the Citi Airline Business card, you would be eligible for 70,000 points.
The Business card comes with a $99 annual fee that is waived in the first year. For that annual fee, you will earn 2x on AA, TV, telecommunications, car rentals, and gas stations, 1x everywhere else. In addition to those reward categories, the card comes with other benefits that you would expect from an airline including preferred boarding, first checked bag free (up to 4 others), and a 25% savings on inflight food, beverage, and WiFi. Finally, if you are able to spend $30,000 within a cardmember year, you’ll receive a companion certificate.
The previous best offer on this card was 60,000 points, so already, you’re ahead. What’s also interesting is that you’ll have up to 5 months to meet the spending requirement. With everything going on right now, I think that’s more than fair, though who knows, it may be possible to get an extension on that as well.
