Penfed to Acquire NRA Card From FNBO

Do you remember the NRA card from a few years back? It looks like we have a buyer for the portfolio.

The Change

On April 24, 2020, Penfed will officially take over the NRA credit card brand. When it switches over to Penfed from FNBO, the card wil change. People who currently have the card will be forced into the Penfed Platinum Rewards Visa Card.

There will be no product changes allowed outside of that. Even though the Ducks Unlimited card is an almost exact copy of the old NRA card, FNBO will not allow product changes. If you really want a Ducks Unlimited card now, you will have to apply for it directly.

Final Thoughts

I think it’s interesting that Penfed is even trying to acquire these cardholders in the first place. Last we heard about this credit cards was just about 2 years ago, why buy it now? Those cardholders wont even be able to keep their existing cards. The only bizarre thing to me is that FNBO will not let you product change to the Ducks Unlimited card. We will have to see how things go with this transfer of power.

Are you excited to get into Penfed? Or are you thinking about applying for the Ducks Unlimited card? Let us know in the comment section below.
