Some Capital One Cards Changing Networks

So this is a weird one, but I figured that it may be good to know for the people that this will impact. Captial One in making some minor changes to some cards in its portfolio.

The Changes

Quite a few cards in Capital One’s portfolio is changing credit networks. Some are going from Visa to Mastercard, and one is going from Mastercard to Visa.

  • Visa -> Mastercard: Quicksilver Cash Rewards, Spark Miles, Spark Miles Select
  • Mastercard -> Visa: Journey Student Rewards

All of these cards will get redesigns and may appear with a new number

Final Thoughts

I’m not sure why this changing is taking place, but I can’t imagine this would impact too many people. The main example that I can would be if you previously used one of the Visa cards at Costco, and it’s changing to a Mastercard. Otherwise, the only other real difference is the insurances that Mastercard and Visa provide.

Do you have one of these cards? Is there a reason that you may not want this? Let us know what you think in the comment section below.
