Two Avianca LifeMiles Credit Cards Are Offering Increased Sign Up Bonuses

There are multiple cards issued by Banco Popular which are going through a few changes. Avianca has an increased sign up bonuses on two of their credit cards, but there is a fun little twist that I haven’t really seen.

The Increased Offers

If you go to apply for the card online, you will be greeted with the standard sign up bonus. However, when you apply for the card, there is a field where you can enter in a promotion code. To see these increased offers, you will have to enter: SB4060 into that field.

With the two different cards, I will break down the offers for both of these cards as follows:

Vuela:

The standard sign up bonus on this card is 40,000 points for spending $1,000 in the first 3 months. For a limited time, the sign up bonus has increased to 60,000 points for spending $1,000 in the first 3 months.

Vida:

The standard sign up bonus on this card is 20,000 points for spending $1,000 in the first 3 months. For a limited time, the sign up bonus has increased to 40,000 points for spending $1,000 in the first 3 months

Avianca Vuela Visa Summary

There is an annual fee of $149 on the Vuela card which is not waived in the first year. For the annual fee, you can earn:

  • 3x: Avianca Purchases
  • 2x: Gas stations and grocery stores
  • 1x:  Everywhere else

In addition to the reward categories, you can get a free piece of checked in baggage for travel inbetween U.S. and Central America. There is a 50% discount on award tickets redeemed for travel to Central America or Colombia, and you could get an additional 50% discount if you spend $12,000 within the year. Finally, you can get a 15% discount buying miles through the Multiply Your Miles program.

Avianca Vida Summary

The Vida card comes with an annual fee of $59, which is not waived in the first year. For the annual fee, you can earn:

  • 2x: Avianca Purchases
  • 1x: Everywhere else

In addition to the reward categories, you can get a 15% discount on purchasing miles through the Multiply Your Miles program.

Final Thoughts

These two cards are both offering pretty high sign up bonuses. Each point is worth about 1.7 cents per point (TPG). This would put the 60,000 point offer at a total value of $1020, which is pretty dang high! Whichever card you end up applying for, just remember to enter in the promo code: SB4060 before you submit your application
