In my opinion, the food delivery service has been one of the most competitive markets in the last year or so. Uber eats, Postmates, Grubhub, Seamless, Doordash etc. Even abroad there is a ton of competition too! We’ve always strived for convenience, but food delivery service makes it completely clear what you need to pay upfront, and you don’t have to rely on the restaurants delivery drivers to come to you (if they even deliver in the first place).
Food delivery programs are trying to stand out, but also be competitive. Queue Uber Eats Pass.
Uber Eats Pass Details
Uber Eats recently added in a delivery fee and service fee to its app. If you would like to avoid the delivery fee, you can sign up for Uber’s, Uber Eat Pass. The Pass is a subscription model for Uber Eats. For $9.99 a month, it waives the delivery fee on orders of more than $10. The service fee is still charged, and is 15% of the total order amount.
Uber Eats certainly wasn’t the first one to the food delivery service game, and certainly not the first one to the subscription model either. That being said, the Uber name is probably the most familiar one worldwide. If they can leverage that properly, they may be able to get some ground here.
