United MileagePlus Explorer 60k Offer With Annual Fee Waived

It looks like United is helping out more than just its business clients, but also is personal cards as well. Just like the business card, there is an increased sign up bonus for the MileagePlus Explorer card that could be pretty beneficial.

The Offer

If you spend a total of $3,000 within the first 3 months, you would be eligible for 60,000 United points. In addition to that, with this offer the annual fee will be waived within the first year.

Card Summary

Although the annual fee is waived within the first year with this offer, it is normally $95. For that annual fee, you’ll be earning:

  • 2x: United, restaurants, and hotel
  • 1x: everywhere else

In addition to the reward earning, you’ll receive up to a $100 credit for Global Entry or TSA Precheck. Finally, the card also comes with a free checked bag for up to 2 different people and 25% off inflight purchases.

Final Thoughts

Previously, the absolute best offer on this card was for 65,000 points, but those 5,000 extra points required a total of $10,000. If we’re being honest, that’s reasonable for a business card, but pretty high for a personal card. Even the premium $450+ annual fee cards would only expect users to spend up to $5,000 within 3 months.

In either case, I think this offer is much more reasonable than the all time high bonus. If you were considering the United MileagePlus Explorer card in the past, this offer with its annual fee waived for the first year sounds like a pretty good deal.

What do you think about this offer? Does the sign up bonus and the waived annual fee make it worth it to you? Let us know in the comment section below.
