Well, just a day after we find out that US Bank was discontinuing its Flexperk cards, they are making a change to their premium travel credit card – the Altitude Reserve.
The Changes
There will be a new category added to the Altitude Reserve card. This will be 5x on prepaid hotels and car rentals booked using the Altitude Rewards Center
Card Summary
The Altitude Reserve has a $400 annual fee. With that annual fee, there is a $325 annual travel credit. As far as the reward categories go, you’ll be able to earn 3x on travel and mobile wallet purchases. Everywhere else will earn you 1x.
The points are worth 1.5 cents per point if you redeem with real time rewards.
Final Thoughts
With the card in its current state, I think this is a great change. Sure, you do have to book directly through the Altitude’s portal, but any opportunity to earn 2x extra points is a good one. As of this time, there is no increase in annual fee, and the points are still able to be redeemed at 1.5 cents per point. So overall this is a pretty good change. If we see one of these two items changes, then we will update.
