February can be a pretty exciting month for many. February holds Black History month, as well as Valentine’s Day, Presidents’ Day, and a from time to time, there’s an extra day added into the mix. That last sentence is about as eventful as my credit this month, so basically nothing exciting happening.
Cards In My wallet
- Chase Sapphire Reserve
- Chase Ink Business Preferred
- Amex Blue Cash Preferred
- Discover IT NHL
- Chase Freedom
- Groceries: Discover IT NHL (5%)
- Gas: Chase Freedom (5%)
- Restaurants: Chase Sapphire Reserve (3x)
- Travel: Chase Sapphire Reserve (3x)
- Business Expenses: Chase Ink Business Preferred (1-3x)
- Everything Else: Chase Sapphire Reserve (1x)
The strategy is also not that exciting either, compared to last month anyway. Any possible business expense I can put on my Chase Ink Business Preferred the better. That will allow me to get to that sweet sign up bonus of 80,000 points. For any other expense, my strategy is as follows: groceries on the Discover NHL card, gas on the Chase Freedom, Restaurants, Travel, and any other expenses all get tossed on the Chase Sapphire Reserve.
Meeting this sign up bonus on the Chase Ink Preferred isn’t going to be easy, but I wouldn’t have applied for the card if I didn’t think I could do it. It the second month, I’m trying what I can reasonably charge as a business expense. I have a feeling I’m going to cut this one a little close though. Otherwise, business is as usually for my other cards.
