With the few credit card pick ups for the better part of half a year, you would think that there couldn’t possibly be any sort of new updates. That would be where you’re wrong, I can always pull something from my sleeve. And I’ve got a pretty exciting update for you too!
If you’ve been reading along since before I applied for my Chase Sapphire Reserve, you would know the great lengths that I had to go through to prepare for that application. My biggest goals before getting there was in the form of getting a 10,000+ credit limit on both my American Express and Discover IT NHL card. While I was able to accomplish that goal with American Express, I wasn’t able to nudge Discover that high… until now!
Discover has given me a credit limit increase! I went from $7,500 all the way to $11,200. That is pretty impressive and with that, I’ve accomplished my goal.
Cards In My Wallet
- Chase World of Hyatt
- Chase Sapphire Reserve
- Amex Blue Cash Preferred
- Discover IT NHL
- Chase Freedom
- Spend every penny on World of Hyatt
As far as the spending is concerned though, I’m still focused on meeting the sign up bonus for the Hyatt card. The card has a total sign up bonus of 50,000 points if I spend a total of $6,000 within 6 months (simplified). So far I’m on track, and in addition, the trip that I took last month boosted up my point value, as I got a ton of points by staying at a Hyatt hotel for a few nights.
When it comes to the next card, I’ve made my decision. It’ll still be about a year away, but I want to grab the IHG credit card next. The IHG credit card offers top tier status which can be matched to other programs. Plus, like the Hyatt card, it also includes a free anniversary night.
Now I know these next few months wont be too exciting for these articles as I am trying to meet a sign up bonus. However, if you are curious what I have other than my flavor of the (3) month card, or how I use the cards in the most effective way possible this would be it.
Are you meeting a sign up bonus on any card right now? Let us know down in the comment section below.
